Our speciality is LaTeX typesetting. We can either originate material from a manuscript or process supplied source codes to fulfil your house style and typographical specifications. These supplied codes are often in a word processor format, such as Microsoft Word, in which case we would make every effort to convert them to LaTeX to minimize production time and costs. We are able to handle most formats for conversion to LaTeX, and can originate in those cases where conversion is not possible.
If required, we can also work in other frameworks; for WIT Press, Southampton, we use a Microsoft Word workflow as this best suits the format of their submissions.
We are fully equipped with the latest scanning and presentation software and hardware to allow authors to include graphics within their documents at the most suitable resolution for print or electronic viewing. We can redraw or relabel graphics if required.
As standard, every job is proofread, corrected and then checked again before proofs are despatched.
Proof despatch can be to you, the customer, or PDF proofs can be supplied direct to authors and editors to your requirements. For example, PDF proofs can be watermarked, security settings imposed and annotations added with author queries.
When the final proofs have been accepted, we can provide PDF CRC (with preflight checks), HTML or SGML/XML to your own DTD requirements. All SGML/XML is parsed error-free and quality checked for tagging compliance.
We have a rigorous back-up procedure throughout the production process. All files are then archived; it has happened that material has found new life months after first publication.
